Helping educate kids so they can graduate and begin a successful life – that’s the goal of the community-wide effort known as the Youth Impact Project.

Speaking to an enthusiastic group gathered at the former Allenberry Resort Inn and Playhouse, Ken Landis, one of the project’s leaders, said he wants people to know three things about the charitable effort.

On Sunday, April 9, Patrolman Thomas Kibler made his final rounds in a Carroll Township Police car. After 14 years as an officer for the township and a previous 12 years with North Middleton Police, it was time to move on to another adventure.

“I was known as “The Reverend” because of my belief in God,” Kibler said “I have had so many experiences. There were plenty of fun times. Once I switched pants of two patrolman in the locker room before they came on duty. One could barely get his leg in the pants while the other could wrap the pants around himself. Another time, he hid a beeper near Keith Miller’s desk. It would go off every few minutes and he could not find where the beep was coming from. Drove him crazy until he found it.”
