Sing a Song of Homeschooling
By Hunter Fell

___If you’re a regular reader of this column, you know that I often address common myths and misconceptions about homeschooling. A while ago, I became interested in a comedian named Tim Hawkins who, having been homeschooled himself and homeschooling his own four children, works his experiences into his comedy routine. Attending one of his shows while in Florida last winter, I enjoyed the fact that, like me, he makes fun of homeschooling stereotypes; and although that is only a small percentage of his comedy, felt it might be fun to share some of his thoughts with you today.
___Along with reworked old rock and worship song videos, one of my favorite routines of his rewrites lyrics to the tune of “The Addams Family” theme song, entitled … drum roll please … “A Homeschool Family.” I would like to sing that for you today; well, not sing per se, since you will be reading it and I have no intention of coming to your home to serenade you (just call me an unsocial homeschooler), but you get my drift. This may not be what you expected when deciding to browse my column today - or maybe you’ve read often enough to know exactly where I’d go with this (if that is the case, be very afraid).
___Are you ready? Do you have “The Addams Family” theme music in your head? Good. Without further ado, I present, TIM HAWKINS!!!
