Monaghan Township: Sink holes surface after hurricane
Carolyn Hoffman/Staff Reporter
Hurricane Debby created and brought to light serious stormwater issues in Memphord Estates. Sinkholes have developed along Summer Drive at the corner with Autumn Drive. The area will be cordoned off temporarily while the township figures out what is needed for a more extensive fix.
As school starts in two weeks, Monaghan first needs to stabilize the area as a public safety issue. Although the sinkhole itself is currently the major issue, it was also reported that the road is sinking in another several areas leading uphill to a 48” pipe, so that area might also fail.
