School Board: NMS on hold
Mary Lou Bytof/Staff Reporter
The Northern York County School District Board of Directors Tuesday evening gave the district the green light to advertise for bids for the additions and renovations of Northern Elementary School. The vote was unanimous.
However, after some discussion and re-writing an agenda item, the board voted 5-4 against advertising for bids for the addition and renovations to Northern Middle School. In a roll call vote, the following members voted against sending out bids: Board President Zachary Kile, Steve Becker, Gregory Weir, Paul Miller, Jr., and Gerald Schwille.
Early in the meeting, when the board was preparing to approve the meeting’s agenda, Miller requested that agenda item 11E be changed from a combination bid package for both schools to three separate items. The Items were E for the combination package, F for the middle school only, and G for the elementary school only. His motion was accepted and the board changed the agenda to vote on the three items separately.
