Section 7 tourney spells end for DYB All-Stars
Andy Sandrik
Dillsburg Banner
The Little League season is officially over for Dillsburg Youth Baseball's final two All-Star teams, which both went down in their respective Section 7 double-elimination tournaments last week.
Dillsburg's 8-10 All- Stars opened with a 15-0 win over Octorara, but back-to-back losses to Glenmoore (9-1) and Greencastle (9-4) spelled an end to the season. Dillsburg's 8-10 group of boys finishes with a 6-2 record and a District 14 championship banner. They outscored opponents 101-21 in the process.
The DYB Majors All-Stars also had high hopes when they, much like the 8-10 All-Stars, opened with a 15-0 victory over Octorara. But eventual champion Eastside proved to be a thorn in the side of Dillsburg. Eastside first sent Dillsburg to the loser's bracket with a walkoff 4-3 win, and after Dillsburg played its way back into contention with a 7-5 win over Greencastle, Eastside delivered the final blow with a 10-7 victory. The DYB Majors All-Stars, who got four home runs in four section games from Brady Anderson, conclude their season with a 9-2 record that saw them outscore opponents by a 116-22 score.
