A Dillsburg consignment shop offers the opportunity to make money from unwanted items and also benefit veterans battling homelessness.

Shirley’s Second Hand Treasures consignment shop opened October 2, 2018, on Rt. 15, and offers “stylish,” diverse clothing for teenagers, misses and plus size.

Shirley Raber, a thrift and consignment shopper herself, was inspired to open the store after selling items for herself and her relatives online.

She and her husband co-own Hellion Custom Cycles, which sits below her store. She was so inspired by his passion for the business, which they started in 2008, that she decided to follow hers.

Focused on long term goals -- while still enjoying every step of each race -- Marlee Starliper earned another national title last Saturday, June 22, when she won the 2019 United States Track and Field U20 Championship 3000-meter run in Miramar, Florida.

The Northern H.S. star’s time of 9:29.39 also set a Pennsylvania Outdoor state mark (breaking the 25-year-old record of 9:33.61) to finish well ahead of runner-up and University of Pennsylvania rising sophomore Ariana Gardizy (9:41.15). There were six competitors in the 3k race, as three other qualifiers did not toe the line. Starliper, Gardizy and Katie Thronson from the University of Tennessee ran together for a few laps before Starliper took over and built a comfortable lead. With one lap to go, she had five seconds up on Gardizy and from 12 to 43 seconds on the rest of the field.

“I wanted to stay relaxed for the first mile and run off of feel for the rest of the race to negative split,” said Starliper. “It was great working with Ariana to share the lead for the first few laps.”
