_</span>A multi-vehicle accident on Rt. 15 last Thursday afternoon claimed the life of a Carlisle man.
According to Northern York County Regional Police, at 2:20 p.m. on Jan. 18, a GMC SUV operated by a 66-year-old woman was stopped in the left lane of Rt. 15 south, waiting to turn left onto Old Cabin Hollow Road when she was rear-ended by a 2007 Chevrolet sedan operated by an 84-year-old woman. The impact propelled the GMC into northbound lanes, where it collided with a tractor trailer driven by a 54-year-old man.
The force of impact was so great the back axels of the tractor trailer detached, sending the truck several yards down the highway, crushing and splitting the side of the trailer.

</span>Hosting Palmyra on Thursday, Jan. 18, Northern H.S. Swimming and Diving coaches and athletes honored nine graduating seniors during their meet against the Palmyra Cougars. Head Coach Bill Resser thanked the boosters who helped organize the senior recognition event and he thanked the parents of the seniors for supporting their son or daughter in their high school swimming career.
</span>“I want to thank our seniors for the positive impact you've had on the lives you've touched, including mine,” added Resser. “Before the meet I asked that we also honor our seniors by swimming fast and diving well and they did just that, with 43 career best times/scores, 8 in-season best times and 1 career first time.”
