___ Miller’s Auto Sales & Service has spent the last 36 in virtually the same spot north of Dillsburg. Started in 1980 by brothers Randy and Dave Miller on Harrisburg Pike, it moved down the hill four years later to Northbound Route 15.
In just a few weeks, it will be on the move again. Current owners and Dave’s sons, Robert and Adam, are hoping there will be at least another 36 years in their new spot at 11 Franklin Church Road, south of town.
___“It’s triple the size of our current shop,” said Robert. He manages the repairs and service end of the business and is looking forward to servicing more customers with more efficiency. With easier access to north and south bound Route 15, he hopes more people will consider them.
___ Adam likes the sales side of the business because he enjoys meeting people and helping them find a good used car.
He admits to having a few sleepless nights over the impending move, but he’s not worried that the new location, slightly off the beaten path, will affect sales. “The days of people driving by and seeing the car they want on a lot are gone,” he explained. “All of our sales are off the internet now.”
___ Adam’s sleepless nights are not just from stress, but from the hard work the owners are putting in to get the new building ready. It’s just a shell that has been empty for three years and the Millers are starting from scratch, from putting the paint on the walls to installing the lifts in the shop. They are doing as much as they can during their free time and around their responsibilities of running the business in the current location.
