Print Edition Highlights - November 30 , 2017

___ It’s not a very big bridge, just an updated version of an old stone bridge built on what was a farm road in the early 1900’s, but now it will bear the weight of honor for all veterans and will be known as the Franklin Township Veterans Memorial Bridge.
___ A dedication service was held on Nov. 25 to unveil the sign and give tribute to those who have served.
Supervisor Kevin Cummings observed that there was no way to truly honor our veterans or their families. “There are not enough ‘thank you’s to be said for the empty chairs at the dinner table during deployments, or worse, permanently.”

On Saturday, Nov. 25, a bridge dedication ceremony was held to name the new bridge on Century Lane as "Veterans Memorial Bridge" in honor of local veterans near the Franklin Township Park. In photo, veterans watch as the ribbon is cut by Pam Lerew and granddaughters Amelia and Vivian Lerew.
