__ As fall fairs go, it’s hard to imagine one that could have gone much better than the 102nd Dillsburg Farmers Fair—from the blue sky, sun-kissed days to the crowd-pleasing parades and exhibits.
__ “Couldn’t ask for a better day!” crowed Fair President Carl Shearer after the first sunny, warm day of the fair. His smile only grew wider by the day, as bright sun and T-shirt temperatures ruled the week.
__ Who doesn’t love central Pennsylvania in the fall? And all the more when an autumn festival brings out a certain cheer as everyone works together for the good of the community.
Baltimore Street, strung with lights and dressed in pumpkins, hay bales, mums and gourds in yards and store windows, gave any Hallmark movie set a run for its money. All week, it was hometown character at its best as friends embraced impromptu yearly reunions up and down the street.
__ “We moved to Dillsburg 14 years ago, and we’ll never move anywhere else,” declared Joyce Jones, who with husband Jeremiah, moved from York Springs “It’s such a nice town and everyone welcomes you.”
A block of yard sales merge with the antique car show at the corner of Hanover and South Baltimore streets Saturday morning during Farmers Fair.
