For the second time, Washington Township supervisors have delayed deciding which ambulance service to use in the northern end of their township. They are waiting to hear from Geisinger and have a representative from that organization answer questions.
In other activity at the July 17 session, supervisors set October 4 and 5 for the fall clean-up days with drop-offs allowed from 8-3:30 on each day. Kralltown’s new mural, painted on the side of a barn at the crossroads, will be dedicated August 27 at 2 p.m. Free watermelon will be provided. Washington will again participate in the Christmas magic festival of lights at Rocky Ridge Park.
Early Saturday morning, July 14, a vehicle rolled over clipping a telephone pole and snapping it off on Stoney Run Road. The driver escaped injury. Dillsburg Citizen Hose, Franklintown Fire Company, fire police, Dillsburg Ambulance and Carroll Township Police were on the scene. Photo by Curt Werner/Dillsburg Banner.

Two critical votes by Franklin Township supervisors were postponed until a special meeting scheduled for July 20 at 7 p.m.
The first is a decision on Sturbridge Place, a development to be located just south of Franklintown Borough on Route 194 which will contain 18 single family dwellings and 199 townhomes. This plan was denied in April of 2009. That decision was appealed by the developer. The case has finally made its way through the court system where it was decided the reasons for denial were not valid. The plan was resubmitted to the township this April, and according to the state Municipal Planning Code, a decision must be made in three months unless a time extension is granted.
On Friday, July 14 at 6:24 a.m., a driver escaped serious injury after hitting the back of a tractor trailer near the intersection of Route 15 South and 74. Dillsburg Citizen Hose, Franklintown Fire Company, Dillsburg Ambulance, fire police and Carroll Township Police were on the scene. Photo by Curt Werner/Dillsburg Banner.

Brian Bonin, usually a man of many words, kept his post-game speech sport this time around.
"We're going to states!"
That was the message Bonin delivered to his Dillsburg Youth Baseball 11-12 Little League All-Star team following an undefeated run through the Section 7 Tournament, which was capped on Tuesday with a 11-7 Victory over Exeter.

John Gunning has a team full of good ballplayers who can hit, pitch and field with great consistency.
But the thing that makes Gunning the most proud of his Dillsburg Youth Baseball 9-10 Little League All-Stars is the way his ballclub of good players came together to form a great team.
Pictured from left, front row are Declan Basinger, Tim Gunning, Paul Daggs, Grady Bonin, Matt Kendall, Austin Einsig. Middle row: Blake Junkins, Oskar Dees, Tristan Taylor, Nolan Wimbrough, Colby Pentz. Back row coach Matt Junkins, manager John Gunning, coach Jack Kendall.
