The cloudy, overcast day didn’t dampen the spirits – or the tastebuds – of those who gathered to celebrate Oyster Fest at the Dill Tavern in Dillsburg.
As the local trio, “Across the Pond” provided Scotch-Irish background music, an enthusiastic crowd feasted on oysters and enjoyed the company of friends and a chance to spend some time on the grounds of the Northern York County Historical and Preservation Society’s showcase property

Northern H.S. track and field athletes have hit full stride with setting personal records and garnering medals midway through the 2017 season. Most notable this past weekend at the Jack Roddick Shippensburg Invitational was the Lady Polar Bears 4 x 800 Relay team. Kyra Gerber clocked 2:23.9 for the leadoff leg followed by Maddie Wareham (2:30.3), Emma Fisler (2:23.7) and anchor Marlee Starliper who posted a 2:17.9 split to capture the Class AAA title in 9:36.10. Starliper then ran another epic race in the 1600 Meter Run as she clocked an outdoor personal best time of 4:58.08. While she fell a few steps short of the win, Starliper broke Rachel Wong's school record of 5:00.70 set back in May of 2008.
