U.S. Rep. Scott Perry on Saturday negotiated an angry crowd at a town hall meeting in the heart of his district.

The Dillsburg Republican, who held the town hall in a combination cafeteria/auditorium at Red Lion Junior High School, answered pre-submitted questions on a slew of topics, including health care reform, climate change, immigration executive orders and the president's budget.

At every turn, Perry faced angry reaction from a crowd of a few hundred constituents, some of whom shouted accusations to his answers, at times drowning him out with shouts of "fix it," "tax the rich," and "no wall."

Citizens Hose Fire Company and Franklintown Fire Company passed the needed resolution this week to go ahead with their proposed merger.

The resolution was needed to facilitate the merger legally. Frank Wirth led the meeting giving a comprehensive report and called on Attorney Jill Nagy, hired by the new organization, to explain the resolution and the legalities needed for the final formation of the new company No. 15 Northern York County Fire, Rescue and EMS, Inc. Approximately 30 people attended the open meeting after which each company met independently to vote on the resolution.

Head Coach Bill Resser summed it up best as the Northern H.S. swimming and diving season drew to a close:

"This past week, despite Mother Nature's snowy detour, our 2016-17 journey came to an end at Bucknell University where Nicole Andrews, Katelyn Boyce, Lauren Eby, Rachel Eby, Kate Luft and Larissa MacDougall represented our team at the 2017 Girls PIAA Class AA State Swimming and Diving Championships."

Kate Luft places first in the Girls 200-Yard IM, breaking Northern’s record with the time of 2:09.72. She went on to place fifth in the Girls PIAA Class AA State Swimming and Diving Championships this past weekend.

Tyler Rees had wanted to be a wrestling state champion since the first grade. His gym teacher, and former Northern head coach, Clair "Rudy" Rudisill, can confirm this.

Before class began, Rudisill would ask his elementary students if they had any questions. He would limit his pupils to just three queries.

"The first question was if they could go to the bathroom," Rudisill said. "The second question was if they could get a drink.
