____Dillsburg Borough voters have spoken and Dillsburg is no longer a dry town. With close to a two to one margin, in an off-year election that brought out 22.17 percent of the voters (including 6 absentee ballots), residents have cleared the way for liquor sales. Although zoning regulations still greatly limit where alcohol can be served in areas along Route 15, it will open up the possibility for a restaurant or bar close to home.
____Councilman John Richardson said he’s glad the residents of the borough had a chance to be heard. “And they said they thought it would be a good thing for the borough by a big margin.”
____Borough manager Karen Deibler says no one has submitted any plans yet although she expects to start hearing from developers any time now.
____And while the change in status goes into effect immediately, it’s up to the Liquor Control Board to actually issue any licenses and Deibler hasn’t heard yet what they’re going to do.
