____ Terrence proposed and Annie accepted. They made plans to have the wedding March 30, in Camp Hill, and their families were expected to attend. Instead, they were advised by an immigration attorney to marry as quickly as possible.
____ The reason – the U.S. Immigration and Naturalization Service said that Terrence has to return to the United Kingdom by Friday, April 5, or be declared “persona non gratis” and face legal deportation.

Opening Day
Trout season now in full swing
By Dave Wolf

Brandon Keeney proudly shows one of the trout he caught on opening day.

____Trout season opened in 18 Southeastern Counties on March 30, under sunny skies and relatively mild temperatures. Local merchants reported brisk sales of licenses and trout/salmon permits as well as gear and bait. The warmer weather most likely helped. Although license sales are down “about 20-percent over last year,” Danielle Hoover, account assistant for the Pennsylvania Fish & Boat Commission, (PFBC) said, “I think we’ll find a surge in sales when the weather warms.”
____Anglers lined the banks of local lakes and streams, long before the season’s 8:00 a.m. starting time. The reopening of Opossum Lake in Cumberland County was one of the highlights of the day, attended by John Arway, the Commission’s executive director. As the season continues, anglers will be keeping a watchful eye on the trout stocking schedule posted on the PFBC’s website.
____The Youth Mentored Trout Day was an indication of how well opening day was attended, as anglers turned out in droves. Karen and I were more than surprised when we visited Children’s Lake in Cumberland County on March 23, to cover the event on what had to be called a cold day, with strong, chilling winds. “We’re really pleased with the turnout,” Bernie Mattscavage, Director of the Bureau of Administration for the PA Fish and Boat Commission told me, “we signed up over 299 people.”

Mason Yohn holds his first catch of the season on opening day along Latimore Creek.
