Reports of 5 to 6 inches of snow blankets the Dillsburg area Monday.
____ Monday's snowfall had many local residents wondering when winter was going to step off the stage and allow spring to warm the area.
____ “In March, the average snowfall for the month is 3.5 inches,” said Barry Lambert, senior meteorologist with the National Weather Service in Pennsylvania. “The average snowfall in April is one-half inch.”
____ Lambert said “we're not done yet.” There may be some snow on its way for the next Thursday or Friday. On Easter Sunday, a cold front is due to move into the area, along with showers – probably rain, but a mixed bag cannot be ruled out at this time.
____ While long-range forecasting is more of an art than a science, Lambert said a storm brewing along the gulf coast could travel north and meet a cold front on Friday, April 5, bringing snow. If, indeed, it does snow, it is likely that any accumulation will be limited to north of I-83, and in the higher elevations.
