Road issues dominate meeting
By Carolyn Hoffman
As is typical during the summer road construction season, road issues and plans were the bulk of the July 18 Warrington Township supervisors' meeting.
Bids for work on the E. Camping Area Road were opened July 31, the dawn before the next meeting on August 1. The estimated cost for the shoulder work and creating a crown in one area is about $70,000. The Spangler Road bids were previously awarded to Shiloh Paving, but as of this season, the engineer was waiting on the bid documents to finalize the project. As Shiloh was also expected to bid on the E. Camping Area Road project, engineer Terry Myers thought they were awaiting the outcome of that bidding process before finalizing their bonds.
No new action was reported on plans for the Thundergust Mill Road, though it was noted that two utility poles on the western end of that road.

Area children get back-to-school help
By Shirely Knight
Many area children prepared for the upcoming school year, choosing new colorful backpacks and trendy sneakers at the annual Youth Impact Project in Dillsburg last weekend.
More than 1,000 families registered in advance for the annual giveaway, designed to aid families that need a helping hand in outfitting their children for school.
Volunteers from around the area including the Citizen Hose Company, the Carrol Township Police Dept., the York County Sheriff's Office and 11 members of the girls basketball team helped leaders keep the two-day event fun and interesting. Leer photography took photographs of registered children and provided on free portrait. Many organizations such as New Hope Ministries, York/Adams Drug and Alcohol Commission, United Cerebral Palsy of Central Pa. and Ready Pa. manned tables to answer questions and provide information.
